The Great Yarmouth Beach Classic like the other Grand Slam events will run over two days, with the top teams advancing through to Sunday’s finals. This is the last chance for teams to gain points to qualify for the VEBT 2008 Finals
Pairs Saturday & Sunday 23rd & 24th August 2008
The main attraction, running over the whole weekend is the pairs competition for the top teams on the tour. An FIVB double-elimination format is to be used in this competition. The finals on the Sunday should prove to be the main crowd puller.
Just as with the other Grand Slam events on the tour, there will be a Division 2 Open Pairs Competition (subject to demand)for those not wanting to play at the very top standard. This will still allow for a good level of competition, a bit more serious than the 4's a little less so than Division 1 Pairs.
The competition will be run under Volleyball England and FIVB regulations. The tournament format will be determined based on the number of teams entered.
4 v 4 Sunday 24th August only
On the Sunday, in addition to the main pairs competition a regional 4v4 competition for men’s and mixed teams will run for anyone who would like to play at a lower standard in the company of the “stars” with a bit more emphasis on fun! There will be prizes for the winners of these competitions too.
